Day 6 - Pure Protein - Attack Phase

I woke up this morning feeling a LOT better, thank goodness...of course when I was lying in bed in agony I googled 'stomach cramps on high protein diets' and was scared with all the negative posts I found. I think the best is to have a chat with my Doctor if it happens again. Yes, I want to lose weight, but I don't want to damage my body in the process!

For breakfast I made my three galettes and had them with cottage cheese and ham. It was yummy!
I also had a cup of tea.

I had coffee at around 10am with a friend of mine and then I had my protein shake for my lunch as I was running around at work.

Now I am sitting on my bed, and eating slices of ham and drinking tea :)
I LOVE TEA!

For supper I am making my fillet with soya sauce/oyster sauce. YUMZ.

ACTUALLY - - I have just been given a ticket to Bon Jovi so I am going to do that instead! haha

Day 5 - Pure Protein - Attack Phase

Today started off well - I managed a yummy PP breakfast and enjoyed every mouthful. My daughter is also loving the boiled eggs! :)

I didn't have a snack today, I drank a few coffee's and Tab's in between while running about at work.

At lunch time I drove through to Hout Bay to visit my friend and diet partner, Tammy, and we had a 250g steak which was yummy.

At about 5pm I had a few biltong snap stix and immediately after that, I started to feel sick. Not nauseous  just not "right". I had a protein shake for supper as I couldn't imagine eating food, and nothing seems to be helping :( Bleh. Don't feel too great tonight.

I also missed my walk this evening - but hope to be feeling better tomorrow and to get two walks in!

Day 4 - Pure Protein - Attack Phase

Wow, today was probably my best day! :) I probably over did it on the 'egg side' but I will just skip the eggs tomorrow.

Food Diary:

2 egg Omelette with salmon on the side
Coffee with skim milk

Snack: Kudu Snapstix (biltong)

Lunch: left over chicken breast from last night's supper
Tab

Supper: 1 boiled egg and my left over salmon

Coffee

Exercise: Today I had a walk with Zarah in the morning and even squeezed in a 30 minute brisk walk this evening! Things like going for a walk no longer feels like a mission...instead, it feels exciting and I look forward to working up a sweat and having fun with my daughter outside in the fresh air!
YES! Perhaps my gym days are not as far away as I thought they were... :)

Day 3 - Pure Protein - Attack Phase

Today was a good day.

I have discovered that my energy levels are SO much higher than before. Perhaps the highest that they have ever been in 10 years!

I collected my daughter from my mom's house in the morning and then we set off to the promenade.
It's so much fun going there with my 3yr old as she brings her little bicycle with and I walk fast while she tries to catch me :) we walked all the way to the lighthouse and I wasn't even tired!? - I feel so much lighter already. I hardly get out of breath and I find that I push myself to go up stairs faster each time.

This is totally new to me. Even though I am pretty active at work (I basically run around all day managing people's properties and in my 'spare' time I make kiddies clothing) I am not active enough, and haven't been for a very long time. I think I rely on my car way too much - and instead of walking places, I just drive there. This I am hoping to change when I move at the end of the month. I want to push my exercise up from 30 minutes a day to 30 minutes twice a day and finally, get back into gymming at least three to four times a week.

My ULTIMATE dream is to own a treadmill at home. It always has been. I just know that this new lease on life is the start of a new chapter of my life - where exercise is going to have to become as important as eating and breathing.

So my food diary for the day:

Breakfast: 2 boiled eggs and tea

Tab @ Cafe Neo

Lunch: a 270g fillet steak
Coffee

Supper: chicken breast, rosemary, a half a teaspoon of garlic, and reduced fat feta

Pretty good!

Day 2 - Pure Protein - Attack Phase

The day started off well...

I had scrambled eggs (with skim milk) and tea for breakfast and didn't land up having my mid-morning snack as I had planned.

I set out to have tuna and cottage cheese (non fat) for lunch with two galette's but that didn't happen either(!) so I landed up having biltong sticks and a Tab for lunch.

When I got home from fetching my daughter and nephews from school, I was suddenly overwhelmed by exhaustion that I had to have a nap. I'm pretty sure it had something to do with my blood sugar levels...

Dinner was rushed due to me oversleeping and then having to go out that evening - so I just landed up having a piece of fish for supper.

Day 2 was a bit more difficult as things didn't go according to plan, but I am happy that I did not cheat at all!

1 Glass of Tab

Supper:

It's been a good day! I have loved all of the meals and luckily had enough time to prepare it all (in between work and running around with my 3yr old daughter!).
Tomorrow I think I will buy some mince and make some burger patti's and then make the 'galette' as a bun.
The only thing I was slack with, was the exercise. I didn't make time today - but I am packing my walking shoes into my car in the morning and will do the 20 minutes exercise at the first opportunity I get :)

AMPED!
